James J. Paugh
Kriegsgefangenen Autor
Fascinated by the World War II movies, books, and newspaper articles about Prisoners of War and how the majority kept their wits against strong odds, this work effort is an attempt to show, through data and other analyses, how those experiences drove men to survive while others failed. This project involves synthesizing nearly 300 first hand accounts from surviving POWs.
It is not intended to be a re-write of Victor E. Frankl's, "Man's Search for Meaning" and the larger discussion of Logotherapy, but a deep dive into the reasons why and how these men forged on.
The author is not claiming any military service and as such, the stories are all the more raw, vivid and memorable.

"If you're going through Hell, keep going."
-Sir Winston Churchill
